There are some real heroes in this world the actions of the medics today were incredible, really positive news that Erikson is awake and stable, things like this really put life into perspective 🇩🇰🙏🏻❤️— Harry G Ward (@harrygward_) June 12, 2021
Play was stopped just minutes before the half-time whistle when players signalled the medical team to come onto the pitch to attend to Eriksen, who collapsed inside the Finland half.
Team-mates formed a shield around the former Spurs man, while fans inside the stadium were clearly shocked by the incident, with some pictured in tears.
After around 15 minutes, Eriksen was stretchered off the field, followed by the rest of the Denmark team, while Finland's players also left the pitch.
The Danish FA tweeted: "Christian Eriksen is awake and his condition remains stable. He remains hospitalized at Rigshospitalet for further examination. The match against Finland will be completed tonight. This happens after the players have confirmed that Christian is okay. The match resumes at 8.30pm (7.30pm in the UK)."
